Aim
The aim of the Sir Kyffin Williams Drawing Prize is to promote and reward talent and excellence in drawing.
The competition is open to entry by all artists resident or domiciled in Wales or connected with Wales by birth or choice. Applicants must be 18 years or over.
General
The competition will be judged by a panel of judges which will include artists, curators and Trust members.

The administrative centre for the prize is based at Oriel Ynys
Môn, a working partnership between the Sir Kyffin Williams
Charitable Trust and Oriel Ynys Môn.

Works for the exhibition will consist of work that in the opinion of the Selection Panel qualify as drawings. Drawing is defined, for the purpose of this competition as: an original work of art, in two dimensions, usually on paper, made
of graphic marks which include the use of line within the composition.
All work made since January 2011 is eligible for entry.

Application forms
Application Forms must be received by 1 May 2012.
The forms should be completed, enclosing the appropriate fee for the number of works you wish to be considered.
Up to three drawings may be submitted by each entrant.
A non-refundable handling fee will be required for each drawing offered for inclusion in the competition as follows:
One entry £15
Two entries £20
Three entries £25
For each work offered the artist is required to submit an image of good quality (this can be on CD, Jpeg, photograph or slide: if the original is in colour the image MUST also be in colour). The maximum size of work should be no more than 1.5m x 1m, including frame.
All artists will be informed by letter of the Selection Panel’s decision by 31 May 2012.

Exhibition
An exhibition of the successful works will be on show at Oriel Kyffin Williams. 20 October – 20 January 2013.
There will be up to 100 drawings in the exhibition, according to the decision of the judges.
E-Exhibition – this will include all entries invited to exhibit work
and will display catalogue details on all artists.
sale of work
All sales are subject to a 30% commission, plus VAT (20%) on the commission. This 30% commission should be included in all sale prices supplied by the artist. Works sold will be available for collection after the exhibition from Oriel Ynys Môn.
If works are required for further showings, permission will be sought of the new owner/s.
All drawings selected will require an insurance value prior to collection.
Once received, all work is insured for the duration of the exhibition.
