Remit Letter

The Welsh Assembly Government funds the Arts Council of Wales to deliver its strategic policy objectives in relation to One Wales.

The Remit Letter from the Welsh Government contains an agenda for Arts Council of Wales to build its strategic and operational policies in relation to the One Wales document. It also outlines the the Welsh Government's plans for the arts.

Also outlined are the Welsh Govenment's targets for our good practice in communication and our approach to delivery. This includes our Code of Best Practice.

The ambition of One Wales is "no less than to transform Wales into a self-confident, prosperous, healthy nation and society, which is fair to all".

As an Assembly Government Sponsored Body Arts Council of Wales works within a strategic framework agreed with the Welsh Assembly Government.

Council

Arts Council of Wales' Council members are appointed by the Welsh Assembly Government’s Minister for Heritage. Members normally serve for a period of three years and may be reappointed for a further three-year period.
